Overview

This page explains what data LUMEO collects, how we use it, and how we protect it. It specifically describes the use of face data for the “Find My Photos” selfie feature.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

  • Selfie images — used only for real-time matching. Processed in memory and deleted immediately after matching.
  • Event images — uploaded by Event Organizers to event galleries and used for matching.
  • Basic app usage data — crash logs and anonymous analytics for app reliability (not including face data).

2. Face Data (Selfie) — Critical Details

Purpose: Selfies are used solely to help you locate photos of yourself in an event gallery (“Find My Photos” feature).

  • Processing: Selfies are processed in real-time (ephemeral memory) for the purpose of matching.
  • No storage: We do not store biometric identifiers or face templates on device or servers.
  • No sharing: Face data is never sold, shared, or disclosed to third parties for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
  • Deletion: Selfie data is deleted immediately after the matching process completes.
  • Not for ID verification: Results are for convenience only and do not constitute identity verification.
Important: If your app implementation differs (e.g., server-side storage or retention), update this policy and reconfigure the app to match.

3. Purpose & Legal Basis

We process selfie images to provide the core feature you request — to find your photos in an event gallery. Processing is done with your explicit consent when you initiate the Find My Photos feature.

4. Data Retention

  • Selfies: deleted immediately after processing.
  • Event images: retained by the Event Organizer according to their policies; LUMEO is the processor for matching only.
  • Logs & crash reports: retained for a limited time for debugging and reliability, and do not include facial data.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, in-memory processing for selfies, access controls, and logging to detect misuse. We continuously review security controls.

6. Third Parties & Sharing

LUMEO does not sell, rent, or trade face data. Event images are provided by Event Organizers; LUMEO acts as a processor to match selfies to event images. Any third-party services used for analytics or hosting do not receive face images.

7. Your Rights

  • You may choose not to use the Find My Photos selfie feature — manual browsing is always available.
  • You may withdraw consent by closing the feature; no selfie data is retained after processing.
  • If you are located in the EU or California, you have additional rights (access, deletion, portability). Contact us below for requests.

8. Children

Our app is not directed at children under 13 (or local equivalent). We do not knowingly collect face data from children. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us to have it removed.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will post the updated date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the app when required.
